HELLO
I’m Amelia Haru, an artist + illustrator based in Southern California. Haru is my Japanese name, and it means spring✿
Watercolors are my main love, but I enjoy experimenting with a variety of mediums including (but not limited to) gouache, colored pencils, pastels, cut paper, and digital tools.
These days, my work is a personal exploration of feelings I want to invite into my own life. When anxious or feeling lost, I think about comforting places and memories, or characters who face the world with curiosity and wonder rather than fear. I’m also hugely inspired by nature, soft colors, evocative words, and cats.
For more on my art journey, here is an interview I did with Voyage LA.
