HELLO

I’m Amelia Haru, an artist + illustrator based in Southern California. Haru is my Japanese name, and it means spring✿

Watercolors are my main love, but I like experimenting with all kinds of mediums including (but not limited to) gouache, colored pencils, pastels, cut paper, and digital tools.

These days, my work has become a personal exploration of feelings I want to invite into my own life. When anxious or feeling lost, I think about cozy places and memories, or characters who face the world with curiosity and wonder rather than fear. I’m also hugely inspired by nature, soft colors, evocative words, and cats.
